Creemore Springs pint

Big Taste from a Tiny Place

Out here in our humble little town of Creemore, we spend a heck of a lot of time honing our craft. That means our small batch beers are made with dedication and care. So kick back, relax, and stay awhile. After all, we take our time over here.

For a small-town operation, we have a great selection of beer. All inspired by the time-honoured tradition of European brewing. So whether you like it big and bold or smooth and refreshing, we’ve got you covered.

Premium Lager

Style:
Inspired by a Bohemian Pilsner but a style unto its own

Lager is made the world over, but our Premium Lager is a one-of-a-kind gem. In all our years, we still haven’t tasted anything like it. Probably because we fire-brew it to be unique and it’s only made with the best ingredients in a traditional way. So say cheers to a beer that’s as distinct as our town.

Tasting Notes:
Overtones of sweet caramel malt and an appealing, well-balanced floral hop character.
Pairings:
Try this beer with roasted and grilled meats, spicy foods, stronger flavoured cheese.
Glass:
A stemmed Cervoise, but if you can’t find one, just use your favourite glass.

Kellerbier

Style:
Bamberg-Style Lager

Kellerbier is an unfiltered medieval German beer known for its naturally cloudy appearance. Back in the day, you could only get a taste if you were a special guest in a brewmaster’s cellar. These days, we happily make it available to everyone.

Tasting Notes:
Cloudy amber to burnt apricot colour with a generous fresh hop aroma, hints of citrus and spice, and a dry hoppy finish.
Pairings:
Thai, Mexican or Indian dishes would suit this beer just fine.
Glass:
Traditionalists would serve this in an earthenware mug and nothing beats cheersing with an earthenware mug.

Urbock

Style:
German Bock Beer

Urbock gained notoriety in Munich back in 1612 when it was created for Duke Maximilian. Its robust, ruby-hued, subtle, dark-roasted flavours are just as rich as its history. And you don’t even have to be an aristocrat to enjoy it.

Tasting Notes:
Biscuit-like aroma with a hint of molasses and rich, creamy, deeply flavoured maltiness with subtle dark roasted flavours.
Pairings:
Try this brew with stews and grilled meats.
Glass:
The Snifter. Trust us on this one. It’ll really showcase the beer’s subtleties.

Lot 9

Style:
Czech Pilsner

This golden Pilsner was crafted to honour the founders of Creemore, determined folk who turned a rugged patch of land called Lot 9 into some of the most prosperous crops around.

Tasting Notes:
Medium body and a sweet, rich malt flavour with a refreshing bitter finish.
Pairings:
Grilled white fish or chicken, seafood and soft creamy cheese.
Glass:
Try using something fluted – it tastes better, looks better and the carbonation will last longer.

Altbier

Style:
True Düsseldorf Altbier

Brewmaster, Gordon Fuller and Head Brewer, Bryan Egan headed to Düsseldorf in search of inspiration. They returned with something better: A 200-year old piece of yeast from a German brewery, which was used to create our very own authentic version of Altbier.

Tasting Notes:
Rich, almost nutty malt forward character with a supporting cast of fruity tones.
Pairings:
Roasted meats, sausage, shellfish, rye, camembert, & warm apple strudel. It’s so versatile, you can drink it with almost anything.
Glass:
Altbier is traditionally drank from a straight cylindrical glass to help create the legendary Altbier head.

Oktoberfest

Style:
German style Oktoberfest lager

Oktoberfest is the largest festival in the world, and greatest if you ask us. So we created our very own rendition of a classic Oktoberfest beer to commemorate the harvest celebrations. Raise a stein to a delicious tradition.

ABV

Tasting Notes:
Malt forward character with elegant sweetness, balanced by bitter hops.
Pairings:
It’d be tasty with traditional German fare; Spatzle, Schnitzel, Wurst with Sauerkraut, Roasted Pork or Chicken.
Glass:
A standard pub glass will do for this style, but equally enjoyable out of a classic German tankard.

Just outside the village of Creemore is where the Mad and the Noisy Rivers collide. It’s also where the traditional and unconventional merge to form our experimental brewing series. And just like the rivers’ constant meander, our Mad & Noisy beers were created to shake up the craft beer landscape, and the way you think about beer.

Hops & Bolts

Style:
Experimental India Pale Lager

We took the best of a European lager and a West Coast IPA to create a malty and intriguingly bitter hopped-up brew. Left unfiltered and brewed with five palate-crushing hops, the result is a pithy grapefruit bitterness on a foundation of sweet caramel malt. Yup, this one’s not for the faint of hops.

Tasting Notes:
Light tropical fruit, bold pine notes, bitter flavours, bready malt sweetness, and a hint of nuts and chocolate.
Pairings:
Hot/spicy dishes or Asian-inspired creations would be bang on with this IPL.
Glass:
Traditional Ale Sleeve...otherwise known as a pint glass.

Hop & Weizen

Style:
Hoppy Hefeweizen

Inspired by the traditional flavours of a German Weizen Beer and an American Pale Ale, Hop & Weizen seamlessly blends the laid-back West Coast hop notes of grapefruit and tropical fruit with the upbeat Weizen flavours of bubble gum and banana. The result is a carefully balanced, aromatic and effervescent composition. It’s a rhythmic beer mashup you’re sure to dig.

Tasting Notes:
American Cascade and Mosaic hops add a brisk sensation of grapefruit, citrus zest, and tropical fruit while gentle bitterness adds balance. Smooth and clean with medium carbonation.
Pairings:
Enjoy with poached eggs and sausages, spring rolls, samosas, coconut shrimp and crab cakes. Also pairs nicely with Ricotta, Mozzarella, Colby, Havarti or goat cheese.
Glass:
Fluted glass or snifter.

Every now and then we release a beer that’s inspired by our travels or a special occasion. But all great things must come to an end. These legendary releases have been put out to pasture, but you never know if we’ll bring them back. In the meantime, remember them fondly.

Sunny & Share

Style:
Saison with a twist

Inspired by a trip to Belgium, our brewers concocted their twist on a classic farmhouse ale. Infused with lemon and orange peel, Sunny & Share is an intriguing orchestration of malt, hops and citrus peel that crescendo with a hint of clove. Perfect for sharing, unless you want the whole thing for yourself.

Tasting Notes:
Clove and citrus tones, refreshingly dry and crisp complex flavours, hoppy finish.
Pairings:

Pilsner

Style:
Czech Pilsner

Up here at Creemore Springs, we brew our Pilsner the same way the Bohemians did back in the day. We use four natural ingredients starting with our own clear flowing spring water. It’s our refreshing take on a traditional Czech style.

THEBREWERY

Brewed in small batches by people with big hearts

We fire-brew our beer in small batches in an authentic copper kettle. This gives our beer complexity, balance and flavour. Now add some local spring water, barley malt, hops and yeast, and you got yourself something special.

There are about 80 of us happy folk here at the Brewery. We love what we do and it shows in our beer. So if you ever want to stop by and share some good beer and conversation, look for the Old May Hardware store with a 1932 Model A truck parked out front, and our famous copper kettle perched in the window. Cheers!

Water is one of the most important ingredients in beer. While most breweries have to transport theirs from afar, we’re blessed with having our own source just around the corner. The spring, which is the namesake of the brewery, flows from limestone bedrock and is cooled and shaded by hardwood forest. Now you know why our beer tastes so fresh.
